PREPARATION FOR ARTWORK

When an order is received, we assume all files are print ready. Please check your files carefully. We will not be held responsible for errors when files are not submitted in exact accordance with Colorfast specifications.

This form must accompany all digital artwork submitted to Colorfast.

ILLUSTRATOR/FREEHAND/CORELLDRAW

I have converted all type to vector art, (curves, paths, or outlines, depending on the program).

All linked images and graphics in the file are RGB.

I have saved the file as an eps.

I have not saved any images as a jpeg, nor have I used CMYK color mode.

QUARK XPRESS for MACINTOSH

I have included both the printer and screen font for all fonts used.

All linked images placed into the file and graphics in the file are RGB.

I have saved all linked images as tiff or eps format, and have not used jpeg or low res files.

All type in placed eps files have been converted to vector art.

I have not stylized any fonts in Quark! Using the style palette will not work (i.e., outline, shadow, italic, bold, small caps, etc.).

PHOTOSHOP

I understand small or thin line fonts in Photoshop reproduce poorly. (6 pt. & below)

The file is in RGB color mode.

I understand jpeg will output to grayscale; therefore, I have not used the jpeg file format.

All channels have been deleted with the exception of RGB.

The file has been saved in tiff or eps format. (No other format ca be used.)

ALL 7 BOXES MUST BE FUFILLED BEFORE WE BEGIN YOUR JOB. (Applies to Digital Files)

1 I have not placed gif or jpeg images obtained from the internet in my layout. I understand that images/photos smaller than 300dpi reproduce poorly.

2a I am ordering a color proof from Colorfast

2b I am not ordering a color proof from Colorfast, and waive my right to refuse this job based on color.

3 I am providing a color match print with my color critical job. I understand the only digital color match prints Colorfast will honor are either Iris, Epson 5000, or Rainbow proofs. Deskjets, Tektronix, or other Epson models or other inkjets are not reliable.

4 All bleeds extend exactly 1/8" beyond every trim edge. If I have not provided image bleed of 1/8", I will not hold Colorfast responsible for text reflow, positioning errors.

5 I have placed all critical design elements a minimum of 1/8" in from the trim edge or I will not hold Colorfast responsible for trimming these elements.

6 I have scanned all color images at 600 dpi and bitmaps at 1200 dpi, to size. I understand the quality of an image will degrade if it is enlarged after it has been scanned.

7 I have not used multiple master fonts. If multiple master fonts have been used, I have converted them to vector art.
